a little piece performed and improvised solely on norns grid, with norns shield running mlre script. the track is based on a little poem I wrote when our town was engulfed in the first blanket of snow.
I've mostly used samples from op-1 colored by the amazing lo-fi magic of cocoquantus.

"it seems as though you were left behind,
my featherly, fairweatherly friend
but upon seeing your reddish kind,
I stop myself to ponder again.
you're a survivalist, a modern day settler
and a silent critic of the moving herds.
yet obliviously portrayed on cheesy postcards
and a favourite to us, birdwatching nerds.

and as the first of snowy blankets
paint your canvas with blinding white and grey
the dance between night and day
seems so one sided, now...
but I guess you flourish in that
bathed in principles of yin and yang
you advocate for both, I suppose.
with your senses sensing spring
coming in months' time,
I wonder if your songs shall sing
much louder than mine.

I guess one can only hope..."
